"Such a lovely atmosphere, very relaxing place to have a cup of tea. Service was very friendly and welcoming. We went for dinner and recommend the Mapu Tofu and vegetable dumpling. Everythingg was fresh and flavourful! The portions are very good for the price in the centre of town. Great vegan selection."

"Sometimes it’s the little gems that don’t get all the press that are the best. My wife and I had one of the best lunches of 2025 at Ni Hai Tea House on Leazes Park Road in Newcastle today, a place my daughter has been banging on about for ages. The loveliest, friendliest owners, proudly talking you through an extensive tea menu which was served properly (with a timer!) and a simple menu, freshly cooked and again beautifully served. Highly recommended, the place should be packed week in, week out. Go give them a visit"

"Great first experience, would highly revisit! Food had huge portions and priced at a good value. Chicken laksa and dumplings were delicious. Owners were very hospitable and kind, the place was clean and the decor was stunning. There was a good selection of card games to choose from as well."

"Came in during lunchtime and the atmosphere was still very calm and quiet! The staff were immediately super friendly to me and gave me plenty of time to look at their massive tea range. Their chai was incredible and the snacks I got were presented really well. No complaints!"

"I love this place so much!! The atmosphere is so calming and relaxing… it’s the perfect place to unwind after a long day at work. The selection of tea is incredible, with so many amazing, high-quality options to choose from. The food and desserts are also absolutely delicious and there’s loads of choice too! The staff are always so friendly and attentive, and they’re great at helping with tea recommendations if you’re not sure what to try. I bring my friends and family here whenever I can and everyone loves it. It really is a hidden gem and deserves way more attention!"
